SRU Sol team first to set foot on Trione Fields
Largest Team Fundraising Effort!

Our U15Boys Sol team took our original team challenge to heart.  Last season we asked if the teams would all pitch in and raise money for our fields.  The Sol by far raised the most money of all of our teams, and therefore were awarded their very own ribbon cutting ceremony and the chance to be the very first team to set foot onto the new fields. To make the evening of Friday 10.5.7 even more special, it rained just enough to symbolize the importance of these all-weather fields and to produce the most gorgeous rainbow in the background of the boys practice.  We thank this very special team!

SRU PLAYERS RISE TO THE TOP!

Five members of Santa Rosa United’s Gold92Boys team got a chance to show their stuff on the national level last weekend, when they attended the United Soccer Leagues Super Y-League ODP camp in Cocoa, Florida.  Players Kyle Henderson, Ted Helfrich, Angel Acevedo, Marcus DeLeon, and Nico Spann were recommended by coach Dave Shaffer and chosen by the regional Super Y-League ODP coach to compete in this annual event.

On Our Way to Nationals!

The Gold92Boys team is headed to Greensboro, North Carolina this weekend to compete for a national title in the USClub soccer NATIONAL CUP.  The Gold92Boys won the Western Regional qualifying tournament in Boise, Idaho over the 4th of July weekend, earning them this great opportunity.  Coach Dave Shaffer and Manager Darrin Spann will be joined by some parent chaperones, taking the 18 boys to North Carolina on Wednesday, June 26th.

This is actually the second time the Gold92Boys have won the US Club Soccer's Western Regional tournament.  Two years ago they placed first, but were unable to participate in the national tournament because they were already committed to Surf Cup the weekend the finals were held.

You can see how this United team is doing by checking tournament information on http://www.usclubsoccer.com and going to the National Cup.  They are in the U14 "super" division.

Good Luck, Boys!
