Coaching Course – May 15-16-17, 2009

Advanced Regional Course
Enroll for the Regional or Advanced Regional coaching course to be held at Trione Field and in classrooms nearby.  Over the course of three days top coaches from around the United States will come to Santa Rosa to train coaches from all over Sonoma County.  The courses will be either a two day or three day course resulting in either a Regional or Advanced Regional coaching qualification. 
These courses are open to any coach of any level, from any Club, that wants to get training and also gain qualifications to assist the soccer players.  The Coaching Director will be Kim Sutton, Head Coach at Chico State for the Women's Soccer Team, Former SRJC Women's Coach 
Dates
Two Day Regional Qualification 
May 15th – registration at 5pm and continuing until 9pm on the field and in classroom
May 16th – 8am to 9pm – on field and classroom
Third Day Advanced Qualification 
May 17th – 8am to 5pm
 
The Regional Diploma is a 13-hour course designed for the coach working players 11 to 18 years of age. An emphasis is placed on learning to work with the developing player within both an individual and team concept.
The curriculum outlines how technical and tactical concepts can be applied in the development of players. The focus is placed on the basic methods of coaching, teaching proper technique, the theory and application of offensive and defensive tactics and understanding team management. There is no testing in the Regional Diploma.   All candidates must be at least 16 years of age at the time of application.  If a candidate is under 18 years of age, an adult must accompany him or her for the duration of the course.
Course Fee: $65 per candidate
 
 
The Advanced Regional Diploma is a 21-hour course designed as a supplement to the Regional Diploma, adding eight hours devoted to technical and tactical uses of small-sided games, the study of systems of play and a practice teaching component.
Participants are given an opportunity to conduct a training session on an assigned topic and are assessed by the course instructor. All candidates must be at least 16 years of age at the time of application.  If a candidate is under 18 years of age, an adult must accompany him or her for the duration of the course.
