Game Scheduling Procedures

Game Scheduling  Procedures

1. For Norcal Games - Go to NorCal Website for Scheduling rules

2. Send by email to the SRU office your teams request for Home games.   The SRU office will do  scheduling each Wednesday.

3. Once you receive your home game schedule from the SRU office you confirm the date and time with the visiting team.  All homes games on the SRU schedule will be assigned referees. Managers are responsible to check the SRU website field schedule, this is the official Game Schedule to make sure their home game is listed correctly.  Please notify the SRU office if your game is not listed or listed incorrectly.  Please remember the website schedule is the official schedule and all referree assignments will be made from this schedule.

4. Any changes to the  Schedule need to be emailed to the SRU office at least 2 weeks prior to the date of the game already on the schedule.   Games must be finalized by the Wednesday 1 1/2 weeks before the game is to be played or canceled.    Any changes made to games listed on the official website schedule for any reason, except rainouts, the home team is responsible for canceling the refs by sending an email to the referee coordinator at srurefs@srunited.com   A copy must also be sent to the SRU office at administrator@srunited.com

* Phone messages will not be acceptable for canceling Referees.   Managers are also responsible to check the Website and make sure the game is listed as canceled.  If the game is not listed as canceled by Tuesday evening the team will be responsible for referee payment as listed below.  All Changes must be done by email

5. Tuesday 4:00pm is the cut off for game cancellations without incurring referee payment.
Any cancellations of games after Tuesday 4:00pm will trigger the payment for the ref team for that canceled game.
The Manager, Coach or Team Referee Coordinator will be responsible to send payments to the ref team within 5 days of the scheduled game. Payments made after 5 days will double with the second half going to the Referee Program.
The reason for giving this assurance to the refs is that the refs have made a commitment to ref our games many times foregoing the opportunity to ref another game. When games get canceled it causes bad feelings for the referees and they stop reffing our games.  When the refs know that we have this policy in place they feel good about scheduling our games.

6.  CYSA District V League Games:  These games are already scheduled the home games are listed on the SRU website under managers corner/ Trione Weekend Schedule.  Please check the website schedule and make sure your home games are listed correctly according to the DV schedule you receive.  All of the games listed on the website schedule will be assigned referees.   Home team does need to pay the Referee, CYSA DV will pay them.    SRU teams must follow procedure 4 & 5 for any game changes or cancellations.

7.  CYSA games may be rescheduled but this must be done at least one week in advance.  You need to contact the opposing team and confirm with them the change, then send the change to DV coordinator, your group’s secretary, and SRU Office.  There is a $250 fine if a team does not play in a DV league game so be sure to get any changes in writing.  Also if the game is listed on the SRU website you are responsible for paying the refs.  Please make sure the game is removed from the website schedule if you cancel the game.

Set-up/Take-down Dutie
* If you are the first game of the day on a field you have set-up responsibilities.
* If you are the last game of the day on a field you have take-down responsibilities.
