I want to take this time to congratulate the teams that played in last week’s tournaments. I had a chance to work with five of them and coach two of them at the Las Vegas College Showcase. I really appreciated how open the teams were to me coaching them. It says a lot about the players and parents that they can respect and trust someone else’s advice.

The event in Las Vegas was not a championship for all ages, but in some ages, it was a showcase where teams played four games without a true winner. The three teams that played in that format did well with a 9-3 record. The fourth team, Boca, went 3-0-1 and did not make it to the semi-finals.

I want to also offer special congratulations to the Cosmos for their Championship at the Las Vegas Showcase. They played through a lot of adversity to get through their group and semi-finals to win the final. I would also like to congratulate the Thunder for reaching the semi-finals at the Nomads tournament. During the weekend, the Thunder played through injuries and challenging opponents and still achieved success.

Lastly, I want to wish every team from U14-U18 luck this weekend and next in State Cup. I will be at some of the fields, and unfortunately I cannot be at all of them. The coaches have informed me through email which teams need my help on the sideline and scouting. I am looking forward to helping in anyway I can. Good luck and see you on the fields.
