We are excited about the event on October 6th, to celebrate the opening. This will be exciting and important for the SRU community for years to come. Secondly, we are in the process of soliciting and securing businesses that want their company seen at the Trione fields through signage. We have had a good response to date, but we are still looking for businesses that want to advertise at the field. Thirdly, we are starting to seek companies that want to be an important part of our scholarship development. As a soccer community we do not want to lose a player or family because they can not participate. Organized sports, as we all know, provide young people valuable lessons that will benefit them directly for the rest of their lives. Time management, working in a team, dealing with setbacks, dealing with successes, commitment, setting goals, working towards goals, recognizing one’s strengths and weaknesses, how to follow a game plan, dealing with adversity, and respecting others are some of the many things that competitive soccer can provide. If we can get local companies to help support young soccer players with scholarships then we are helping the community at large.
I look forward to seeing everyone on the fields!
