SR United Tremors 6 Dublin Magic 0

The Tremors paid the Dublin Magic a vist and they were not good visitors. The Tremors jumped out to a quick lead and continued to put the pressure on the Magic defense all game long. 6 different players scored as the Tremors showed their versatility. The defense was strong and stopped many opportunities that the Magic had on goal. Next game is against Pleasenton Rage.

9/27/09

SR United Tremors 9 Pleasanton Rage White 0

On a hot day at a Place to Play the Tremors also were hot. After a few chances got away from them in the begining of the game they buckled down and began to work the ball around to open up space and the shot began to hit their mark. Leading the way with goals were L. McMahon, G. Albavera, K. Gonzalez, L. Hordyk, E. Wright and J. Girman. M. Klee played extremely well on the field and in goal and C. Wood, M. Bertolone, N. Hakel also made sure than any attack that the rage had would be stuffed. Once again A. Shields made sure that the middle was in check and her distributions of balls led to many goals. Next game vs Central Valley White.

10/11/09

On a cold and damp day at Trione the Tremors started cold vs a GAME Central Valley team. The Central Valley team got on the board first and took the lead early only to see the Tremors come back with some fire power of their own. The defense settled down and controlled any offensive threat that the Central Valley team might have had. The Tremors goals came from 4 different players. The game was rough but well played by both teams. This ends the prelim portion of the Nor Cal State Cup. The Tremors now must wait to see what bracket they will be placed in.

11/21/09

On a windy and chilly day in Manteca the Tremors came out ready to prove that they belonged on the field against one of the toughest team in the Nor Cal Section. The game started going the Tremors way as they controlled much of the action. But the Tracy team did a good job defensivley against the Tremor strikers. The Tremor defense did a great job as well neutraizing the talented Puma strikers. In the first half the Tremors worked the ball into the box but just couldn’t get a shot off. The first half ended 0-0. The second half started and the Tremors continued the quick pace against the Jr. Pumas but time and time again the Jr. Pumas stiffled the Tremor attack. Half way thru the 2nd half the Tremors attacks were becoming more intense and sure enough after a beautiful cross from J. Girman the ball trickled to the outside post and K. Gonzalez put it in the back of the net for the 1st score of the game. The Tremors settled down but as soon as that happend the Puma offense began to click. After an impressive run of passes the Pumas got the ball to their outside striker who punched it in underneath the body of the Tremor goalie M. Klee. When the final whistle blew the game was still tied 1-1 and the teams were going into overtime where the Golden Goal could decide the match. The Tremors had kickoff and sure enough they started to put pressure on the Puma defense. Then with about 5 minutes into the match J. Girman threw the ball in and G. Albavera headed it backward where C. Wood attacked it but couldn’t reach it and K. Gonzalez again punched it for the WIN!

Congrats to the Tremors as well as the Tracy Jr. Pumas for a great game. Next up for the Tremors is the powerful Elk Grove Everton team on Sunday November 22 2009. Go Tremors.

11/14/09- 11/15/09

SRU Tremors 2 Chiva Girls 1

The Tremors played four games at Granite Park in Sacramento and they left all their fans happy with the results. Saturday’s game was with the tough Chiva Girls. This was the 3rd game with the Chiva Girls in the last 3 weeks and the Chiva Girls came to play. After pulling out to a quick 1st half 1-0 lead the Chiva Girls muscled up defensively. The second half brought a different Tremor team. The Tremors kept pushing in for a score but couldn’t get it then with about 15 left in the game G. Albavera took a pass from J. Girman and she manueverd around the defense and took a shot which ended up in the back of the net. Then with about 10 min. left to play N. Hakel took a shot from about 18 yds. out and hit the top post coming down right in front of the net and G. Albavera headed it in for the 2nd score closing the score.

SRU Tremors 1 E. Diablo Fury 0

Once again the Tremor offense took some time to start up and that had to do with the E. Diablo defense and goalie who kept the Tremors at bay. Then in the second half J. Girman hit the back of the net with a great belly shot that she took after K. Gonzalez sent a beautiful cross. Once again the Tremor defense held strong with C. Wood, L. Mcmahon, L. Hordyk and N. Hakel. M. Klee had another shut out.

SRU Tremors 3 Manteca FC Flames 2

This game had the intensity of a high school game. The Flames had been scoring at will and there was no doubt that they would get their scores. The game started slow for the Tremors as they were getting into the flow of things. Then a break came when a Flame player was called for a penalty. A. Shields took a great shot only to have the Flame goalie make an even better save. Right before the end of the 1st half M. Bertolone pressured the ball and it bounced off a defender and G. Albavera took it and shot it far post to put the first score on the board. Second half the Tremors continued to put pressure and after another great cross by K. Gonazalez to J. Girman belly shot (her 2nd of the weekend) the score was 2-0. Then G. Albavera finished the scoring for the Tremors when once again pressure against the defense popped the ball to G. Albaver who one touched it in for the score. The Flames got their goals on a "own goal" and a great shot by their forward that went through M. Klee’s legs nevertheless M.Klee had another great game.

SRU Tremors 2 Livermore Pride 1

The last game on Sunday had the Tremors going against a great Livermore team. The Livermore team took the early lead with a goal right over the head of M. Klee. In the 2nd half the Tremors picked it up. A. Shields patrolled the middle, L. McMahon monitored the back and the outside was controlled by K. Gonzalez, J. Girman, N. Hakel, C. Wood, L. Hordyk and E. Wright. Then half way thru the 2nd half G. Albavera took a shot for the Tremor first goal. Then 5 minutes later J. Girman kicked a corner that A. Shields headed it towards the goal only to have the goalie block it and bounce off eventually landing at the feet of A. Shields which then she kicked in for the 2nd score to end the game. The Tremors next game is against the tough Tracy Jr. Pumas on 11/21/09.

9/12/09

SRU Tremors 4 Mill Valley Rockers 0

The Tremors opened up the Nor Cal Fall league with a game against the Mill Valley Rockers. The Tremors came out strong with great passing and excellent runs on the offensive side. The defense also played well as they stopped all offensive threats that the Rockers had. With a shutout game from M. Klee and N. Hakel and goals from G. Albavera, C. Wood, A. Shields and K. Gonzalez the Tremors pulled off the victory. The defense was headed by L. McMahon, L. Hordyk and N. Hakel. E. Wright, M. Bertolone and J. Girman also had a great game.

10/4/09

SRU Tremors 5 Central Marin 0

The Tremors second game in the Nor Cal League was an exciting one against a very pesky Central Marin Team. The Tremors continued the great passing that they had in their last Nor Cal game and worked the ball around very well. Megan K. had another great game in goal with help from Nicole H. The defense again had a stellar game and the midfield continued their control of the match. Goals came from 5 different players which showed the depth that the Tremors have on their team. Their next league game is against a tough Novato team.

10/10/09

SRU Tremors 4 Novato 2

For the first time in league play the Tremors were down 1-0 at half....but Coach Perez must have had some great words of encouragement because the Tremors came out with energy. The final tally of the game was 4-2 Tremors. Once again the defense played well and 3 different Tremors scored. Next game is against SCA North.

10/16/09

SRU Tremors 2 vs SCA North 1

A big crowd was on hand at Wilson Ranch to watch a great match up between the Tremors and the SCAN North girls. The Tremors came out attacking but the SCA North girls stopped every attempt that the Tremors had thrown at them. Then half way thru the 1st period a bad luck play for the SCA N team. A. Shields took a shot from outside the box which the SCA N goalkeeper stopped but the ref said that she was inside the goal giving the Tremors a 1-0 lead. Right before the end of the half the SCAN girls got on the board with a goal of their own tying the game at 1 at the half. Second half went back and forth. The SCAN girls had a handfull of one on one with goalie M. Klee only to be stopped. Then with about 10 minutes to play a ball was played in the box to G. Albavera and as the goalie came out G. Albavera punched it in the goal for the Tremors. When the final whistle blew the final score was 2-1. Both teams should be congratulated for a great game.

10/31/09

SRU Tremors 5 vs North Bay Elite Red Devils 0

The Tremors took a trip to Fairfield to play the Red Devils at Amy Blanc School. The Tremors started off slow as the Red Devils played tough defense on them. Then half way thru the 1st half the Tremors started to put passes together and started to score. A. Shields, J. Girman, G. Albavera, C. Wood and M. Bertolone got the Tremors scores and there were some great passes by other girls on the team including K. Gonzalez, N. Hakel, L. Hordyk and L. McMahon. M. Klee recorded another shut out with the help of the defense.

11/1/09

SRU Tremors 3 vs North Bay Elite Chiva Girls 0

The Chiva Girls came into Trione with a overall great record on the 1st Sunday of the month and the Tremors didn’t dissapoint with their offense and defense. The Chiva Girl defense played hard and midway thru the 1st half J. Girman scored the first goal of the match. In the second half the Chiva girls had a couple scoring opportunities but the Tremor defense hung tough and did a great job in preventing goals against. Then A. Shield and J. Girman came back with 2 more goals and finishing up the game with a 3-0 score. The end of the Norcal season was great with the Tremors winning 6 games with 23 goals for and only 3 against. Great job Tremors.

Tremors Stay HOT At CAL CUP 6/26/09

The Santa Rosa United Tremors showed up at Cal Cup not knowing what was going to be in store for them. They had some tough teams to contend with but everyone also had to deal with the triple digit  heat on the grounds of Cherry Island. Saturday morning brought up 80 degree weather and also the Alliance FC.

The Alliance Fusion got on the board quick with a score but the Tremors came back with one of their own on an excellent pass to Kitana who punched it in for the Tremors 1st score. The Tremors second score came on a gutty play by Catliyn who pressured the goalie and had the ball bounce off her and knock her down only to get back up and beat the goalie to the ball and score. With about 5 minutes left to play the Fusion kept on pressuring finally scoring a goal of their own to make the final tally SRU Tremors 2 Alliance Fusion 2.

The second game of the day had heat in the 100’s and the Tremors faced up against an old rival the Elk Grove Everton. After a tough 1st half that was scoreless the teams got back into the 2nd half only to have Elk Grove score on a couple of corner kicks. Then Everton finished off the scoring with their 3rd goal. Final score SRU Tremors 0 Elk Grove Everton 3.

Sunday brought more of the same weather but different results on the scoreboard. First up for the Tremors was San Juan. The Tremors had many opportunities in the first half but could not score. San Juan was preventing any scoring and the half ended at 0-0. But the fans knew that the Tremors could work a score in and sure enough in the second half the Tremors presssure was too much for the San Juan team. Kitana, Alyiah and Gabby scored for the Tremors. Final score SRU Tremors 4 San Juan 0.

The final game of the day was against the Modesto Ajax Premier. Ajax played a tough 1st half stopping many of the opportunities that the Tremors had. The Tremor defense also played tough stopping the Ajax on many occasions as well. But finally in the 1st half Ella sped thru the defense and scorched one past the keeper for the first score of the game. The second score came courtesy of Gabby as she wiggled her way past the defense and made the final tally SRU TREMORS 2 Ajax Premier 0.

Overall it was a great HOT day for the Tremors....with the scoring from the offensive players like Catliyn, Gabby, Kitana, Alyiah and Ella and the great work by the defense with Nicole, Lindsey, Leanna and the great saves from Megan who also came out to play some great defense as well. Tremors Finish Strong at El Dorado Tournament

                                                                                                  6/13/09

The Santa Rosa United Tremors had a good weekend of soccer planned for their fans as the day started on Saturday but the Davis team had other plans. Tremors came out strong and dominated the 1st half with strong attempts on goal. Finally on a corner kick from J. Girman C. Wood struck the ball into the net for the first and only score for the Tremors. The Tremors continued to push the pace in the second half but came up empty. Then with a few minutest left to play the Davis team tied it up with a goal of their own and the game ended with a 1-1 tie. Final Score Davis Legacy 1 SRU Tremors 1.

The second game on Saturday pitted the Tremors vs a tough Elk Grove Everton team. Elk Grove played strong and got on the board 1st with a goal. Then the Tremors answered back with a goal of their own when J. Girman hit the back of the net after getting a nice cross. Elk Grove then roared back with another goal of their own when there was some confusion on a free kick. The second half was all Everton as they scored two more goals and put the game away but that didn’t stop the Tremors from having a few scoring opportunities of their own only to have the Everton goalie stuff them with some great saves. Final score Elk Grove Everton 4 SRU Tremors 1.

Coach Martin must have had a "Win it for the Gipper" speech prepared for the girls on Sunday because they came out against one of the toughest team in the Nor Cal Crossfire Red and stepped up their game. The first half was fierce both ways as there was chances for both teams. Then half way thru the 1st half K. Gonzalez sliced her way to the goal and toe poked one in for the games 1st and only score. The second half was rough as both teams battled for ball control but the Tremors seemed to have the upper hand as they continued to push the pace with many more scoring chances. But credit to the Crossfire goalie as she stopped many shots. When the final whistle blew the SRU Tremors had squeeked out a 1-0 win against a great team. Final Score Crossfire Red 0 SRU Tremors 1.

In conclusion the weekend had it’s ups and it’s downs but the girls saw what they can do when they work and play together as a team. Kitana, Madelyne, Jordan, Nicole, Lindsey, Megan, Leanna, Alyiah, Caitlyn, Ella and Gabby continue to grow as a team and play excellent soccer. And as always a great job by coach Martin Perez for keeping the girls focused and working hard. GREAT JOB GIRLS, COACH and PARENTS!!!

                   Windsor California Play Date 5/17/09

TREMORS show off stuff at Playdate in Windsor 5/17/09

The Tremors wanted to redeem themselves from the last Playdate and show their fans what they can do on the pitch.  The forecast called for HEAT on Sunday but little did we know that the Heat was going to come from the Tremors.

The Play date started out tough right from the get go with a strong Elk Grove Everton team. The Tremors started off strong with a shot from Alyiah from about 20 yards out that landed in the goal. That put the Tremors up 1-0. But the Everton team kept pushing the ball up and there were many saves by Megan but halfway thru the 2nd half Elk Grove broke thru with a goal to tie it up. It went back and forth for about 20 minutes and with about 2 minutes left in the game Elk Grove scored the go ahead goal. The game ended up 2-1 in favor of Everton.

The second game saw the Tremors go up against a Mustang Blaze team. The Tremors were ready for this game as they went up early with scores from Alyiah, Jordan, Nicole and Kitana and Gabby. The defense came up strong as well with Leanna, Lindsey and Caitlyn stuffing any attack that the Blaze tried. In goal Megan was strong in the 1st half and in the 2nd half Lindsey and Alyiah came up big for the Tremors. The final score to that game was 6-0.

The final game of the day saw the Tremors go up against the Tri-Valley Samba. Jordan started the scoring by pressuring the defense an not stopping until she scored the 1st goal of the match. After the 1st goal the Tremors gained confidence and the team started to run on all cylinders. Ella got in to the scoring column also with a great run down the right side and putting it to the back of the net for a score. Gabby also got involved with the offense scoring as well.

Overall the Tremors showed what they are made of. Under Windsor’s 100 degree sun the Tremors kept pushing the pace and they didn’t stop. All the girls played their hearts out and left it all out on the pitch. Congrats to the Tremors ( Kitana, Gabby, Leanna, Lindsey, Caitlyn, Jordan, Ella, Madelyne, Megan, Nicole and Alyiah) and to Coach Martin for their hard work on one of the hottest days of the summer.

TREMOR REPORTER

Sonoma State Playdate 4/5/09

The U-10 Santa Rosa United Tremors showed up for the much anticipated 1st play date of the season. With only a few weeks of practice under their belts they competed in the top divison of the U-10 brackets with some teams that had been finalists in the Nor-Cal’s last season.

The day began with a 0-1 loss to Central Valley Soccer club. The lone goal of the match came on a high arching shot that was out of reach of the Tremors Goalkeeper. The defense was strong, the midfield controlled the match and our strikers had opportunities but the Tremors couldn’t put the ball in the back of the net.

The second game against El Dorado was a scoring spree. The game had momentum turns every minute. El Dorado would score, then the Tremors, then El Dorado, then the Tremors and finally a goal by El Dorado. The Tremors had some time but couldn’t find that tying goal. The game ended with the score 2-3 in favor of El Dorado.

The last game of the day was against the Rays. There were some great opportunities for both teams but at first both teams came up short. The Rays had a stong defender who stiffled our strikers and the Tremor defense and the goal keeper did their best to keep the Rays at zero. But half way through the 1st half a break away for the Ray striker put the score at 0-1. The Tremors didn’t give up...they fought hard but time ran out and the score ended up 0-1.

Overall it was a great day of soccer. Tough, intense games against teams that are top level teams in Nor Cal. The girls played they hearts out and all Tremor fans and parents are proud of them. Great job ladies...Nicole, Caitlyn, Alyiah, Lindsey, Madelyne, Kitana, Leanna, Ella, Jordan and Gabby. Also big thanks to Megan, Ali and Mia for helping out the Tremors. Finally a huge thanks to Coach Martin for his leadership/coaching of the girls.
