Wright finished a good victory for the Tremors 5-1.

The second game was against a very good El Dorado team. The first half ended in a 1-1 tie with a goal by C. Wood but in the second half the Tremors pulled away 2 goals by J. Girman. The Championship brought back the El Dorado Eclipse. The game was fierce, tough and aggressive but G. Albavera broke thru the defense first and put the Tremors on the board with a goal. J. Girman scored the next 2 goals and the defense limited the Eclipse to one goal. The game went back and forth for both teams with fouls on both sides due to the aggresive plays but when the final whistle blew the Tremors had pulled out another victory. M. Klee was huge in goal for the Tremors while the defense stopped the Eclipse’s fast forwards. Tremors 3-1.

It was a great tournament for the Tremors with some great offense, defense, goalkeeping, passing, shots and overall team play. The Tremors scored 23 goals while giving up 3. Congrats to the girls and special thanks to all the parents who made sure that our girls were hydrated and taken care of before and after the games. Also a huge thank you to Coach Martin for preparing the girls for the tournament and for his leadership.

The second game of the day brought in the SCA North team. Tremors Stay HOT At CAL CUP 6/26/09

The Santa Rosa United Tremors showed up at Cal Cup not knowing what was going to be in store for them. They had some tough teams to contend with but everyone also had to deal with the triple digit  heat on the grounds of Cherry Island. Saturday morning brought up 80 degree weather and also the Alliance FC.

The Alliance Fusion got on the board quick with a score but the Tremors came back with one of their own on an excellent pass to Kitana who punched it in for the Tremors 1st score. The Tremors second score came on a gutty play by Catliyn who pressured the goalie and had the ball bounce off her and knock her down only to get back up and beat the goalie to the ball and score. With about 5 minutes left to play the Fusion kept on pressuring finally scoring a goal of their own to make the final tally SRU Tremors 2 Alliance Fusion 2.

The second game of the day had heat in the 100’s and the Tremors faced up against an old rival the Elk Grove Everton. After a tough 1st half that was scoreless the teams got back into the 2nd half only to have Elk Grove score on a couple of corner kicks. Then Everton finished off the scoring with their 3rd goal. Final score SRU Tremors 0 Elk Grove Everton 3.

Sunday brought more of the same weather but different results on the scoreboard. First up for the Tremors was San Juan. The Tremors had many opportunities in the first half but could not score. San Juan was preventing any scoring and the half ended at 0-0. But the fans knew that the Tremors could work a score in and sure enough in the second half the Tremors presssure was too much for the San Juan team. Kitana, Alyiah and Gabby scored for the Tremors. Final score SRU Tremors 4 San Juan 0.

The final game of the day was against the Modesto Ajax Premier. Ajax played a tough 1st half stopping many of the opportunities that the Tremors had. The Tremor defense also played tough stopping the Ajax on many occasions as well. But finally in the 1st half Ella sped thru the defense and scorched one past the keeper for the first score of the game. The second score came courtesy of Gabby as she wiggled her way past the defense and made the final tally SRU TREMORS 2 Ajax Premier 0.

Overall it was a great HOT day for the Tremors....with the scoring from the offensive players like Catliyn, Gabby, Kitana, Alyiah and Ella and the great work by the defense with Nicole, Lindsey, Leanna and the great saves from Megan who also came out to play some great defense as well. Tremors Finish Strong at El Dorado Tournament

                                                                                                  6/13/09

The Santa Rosa United Tremors had a good weekend of soccer planned for their fans as the day started on Saturday but the Davis team had other plans. Tremors came out strong and dominated the 1st half with strong attempts on goal. Finally on a corner kick from J. Girman C. Wood struck the ball into the net for the first and only score for the Tremors. The Tremors continued to push the pace in the second half but came up empty. Then with a few minutest left to play the Davis team tied it up with a goal of their own and the game ended with a 1-1 tie. Final Score Davis Legacy 1 SRU Tremors 1.

The second game on Saturday pitted the Tremors vs a tough Elk Grove Everton team. Elk Grove played strong and got on the board 1st with a goal. Then the Tremors answered back with a goal of their own when J. Girman hit the back of the net after getting a nice cross. Elk Grove then roared back with another goal of their own when there was some confusion on a free kick. The second half was all Everton as they scored two more goals and put the game away but that didn’t stop the Tremors from having a few scoring opportunities of their own only to have the Everton goalie stuff them with some great saves. Final score Elk Grove Everton 4 SRU Tremors 1.

Coach Martin must have had a "Win it for the Gipper" speech prepared for the girls on Sunday because they came out against one of the toughest team in the Nor Cal Crossfire Red and stepped up their game. The first half was fierce both ways as there was chances for both teams. Then half way thru the 1st half K. Gonzalez sliced her way to the goal and toe poked one in for the games 1st and only score. The second half was rough as both teams battled for ball control but the Tremors seemed to have the upper hand as they continued to push the pace with many more scoring chances. But credit to the Crossfire goalie as she stopped many shots. When the final whistle blew the SRU Tremors had squeeked out a 1-0 win against a great team. Final Score Crossfire Red 0 SRU Tremors 1.

In conclusion the weekend had it’s ups and it’s downs but the girls saw what they can do when they work and play together as a team. Kitana, Madelyne, Jordan, Nicole, Lindsey, Megan, Leanna, Alyiah, Caitlyn, Ella and Gabby continue to grow as a team and play excellent soccer. And as always a great job by coach Martin Perez for keeping the girls focused and working hard. GREAT JOB GIRLS, COACH and PARENTS!!!

                   Windsor California Play Date 5/17/09

TREMORS show off stuff at Playdate in Windsor 5/17/09

The Tremors wanted to redeem themselves from the last Playdate and show their fans what they can do on the pitch.  The forecast called for HEAT on Sunday but little did we know that the Heat was going to come from the Tremors.

The Play date started out tough right from the get go with a strong Elk Grove Everton team. The Tremors started off strong with a shot from Alyiah from about 20 yards out that landed in the goal. That put the Tremors up 1-0. But the Everton team kept pushing the ball up and there were many saves by Megan but halfway thru the 2nd half Elk Grove broke thru with a goal to tie it up. It went back and forth for about 20 minutes and with about 2 minutes left in the game Elk Grove scored the go ahead goal. The game ended up 2-1 in favor of Everton.

The second game saw the Tremors go up against a Mustang Blaze team. The Tremors were ready for this game as they went up early with scores from Alyiah, Jordan, Nicole and Kitana and Gabby. The defense came up strong as well with Leanna, Lindsey and Caitlyn stuffing any attack that the Blaze tried. In goal Megan was strong in the 1st half and in the 2nd half Lindsey and Alyiah came up big for the Tremors. The final score to that game was 6-0.

The final game of the day saw the Tremors go up against the Tri-Valley Samba. Jordan started the scoring by pressuring the defense an not stopping until she scored the 1st goal of the match. After the 1st goal the Tremors gained confidence and the team started to run on all cylinders. Ella got in to the scoring column also with a great run down the right side and putting it to the back of the net for a score. Gabby also got involved with the offense scoring as well.

Overall the Tremors showed what they are made of. Under Windsor’s 100 degree sun the Tremors kept pushing the pace and they didn’t stop. All the girls played their hearts out and left it all out on the pitch. Congrats to the Tremors ( Kitana, Gabby, Leanna, Lindsey, Caitlyn, Jordan, Ella, Madelyne, Megan, Nicole and Alyiah) and to Coach Martin for their hard work on one of the hottest days of the summer.

TREMOR REPORTER

Sonoma State Playdate 4/5/09

The U-10 Santa Rosa United Tremors showed up for the much anticipated 1st play date of the season. With only a few weeks of practice under their belts they competed in the top divison of the U-10 brackets with some teams that had been finalists in the Nor-Cal’s last season.

The day began with a 0-1 loss to Central Valley Soccer club. The lone goal of the match came on a high arching shot that was out of reach of the Tremors Goalkeeper. The defense was strong, the midfield controlled the match and our strikers had opportunities but the Tremors couldn’t put the ball in the back of the net.

The second game against El Dorado was a scoring spree. The game had momentum turns every minute. El Dorado would score, then the Tremors, then El Dorado, then the Tremors and finally a goal by El Dorado. The Tremors had some time but couldn’t find that tying goal. The game ended with the score 2-3 in favor of El Dorado.

The last game of the day was against the Rays. There were some great opportunities for both teams but at first both teams came up short. The Rays had a stong defender who stiffled our strikers and the Tremor defense and the goal keeper did their best to keep the Rays at zero. But half way through the 1st half a break away for the Ray striker put the score at 0-1. The Tremors didn’t give up...they fought hard but time ran out and the score ended up 0-1.

Overall it was a great day of soccer. Tough, intense games against teams that are top level teams in Nor Cal. The girls played they hearts out and all Tremor fans and parents are proud of them. Great job ladies...Nicole, Caitlyn, Alyiah, Lindsey, Madelyne, Kitana, Leanna, Ella, Jordan and Gabby. Also big thanks to Megan, Ali and Mia for helping out the Tremors. Finally a huge thanks to Coach Martin for his leadership/coaching of the girls.
