Skill Development (Ball Mastery) is crucial for player development. It can only be achieved by spending time with the ball.

Our SKILLS CAMP staff will train the players with age and level appropriate games and exercises. The players will enjoy high energy games and exercises and will be craving more.

Our SKILLS CAMP Directors and Staff will bring you years of combined experience and education from around the World!
 

2. Santa Rosa United Soccer Goalkeeper and Strikers Camp

Scoring goals and stopping goals are the two most important moments in soccer. This camp is specifically designed to teach motivated players to finish the scoring chance, and for goalkeepers to make the big save.

In 12 hours over 4 days, players will learn how to:

• create the final pass
• crossing
• combination play
• individual action leading to SCORING MORE GOALS!
• Goalkeepers will learn how to stop the 1v1, blocking and saving shots, collecting crosses, and other skills needed to make the BIG SAVE!

In playing many of the top teams from NorCal, SoCal, Washington, and Arizona, the Tremors finished their season going undefeated in their U13 age group for the entire year (32W, 3D, 0L since January, 2012).

During the season they were Champions of Davis Legacy Showcase (U13), Mustang Stampede (U13), SRU Harvest Wine Cup (U14), Placer Prestige Cup (U13), National Premier League Fall (U14), Mustang Winter Turf (U13) and NorCal State Cup - State Division.

Overall, including games at the U14 level, the U13 Tremors had 47 Wins, 7 draws, and 1 loss with 122 goals for and 29 goals against and a #4 National ranking. Great season ladies.

SRU 2013 College Commitments:

To get to the coveted NorCal State Cup spot the team had to beat San Juan Sprits on a golden goal in the quarterfinals.  In the semifinals against MVLA Avalanche the Earthquakes created some excellent scoring opportunities in a thrilling match, but were astonishingly unable to find the back of the net, and wound up losing on the 7th round of penalty kicks.  The disappointment of the PK’s set up their State 2 Final versus Pleasanton Rage where the Earthquakes started the game with a relentless attack.  After numerous close calls at the start of the match, including a long bomb off the crossbar, the Earthquakes finally went up 1-0 mid-way through the first half with a tough angled shot into the side netting.  Minutes later however, a lone Pleasanton counterattack broke through to level the score.   

The Earthquakes continued their attacking ways in the second half, but were still seeking the breakthrough with only minutes left in regulation when the Earthquakes goalkeeper was pulled from goal to launch one of her signature long throw-ins close to the opponent’s goal.  Her long throw bounced through the whole defensive line before finding an Earthquake foot near the top of the 6 yard box for a quick redirect inside the far post that gave them the win.

The SRU girls U-11 Aftershocks won the final 2-1 in penalty kicks over Castro Valley.

They started their quest for the cup by defeating ACC Mavericks 3-0 in the quarterfinal round and followed that victory with a 2-1 win in penalty kicks over Bay Oaks.

The final was a very closely contested match with Castro Valley scoring first and the Aftershocks tying the game in the second half. The Aftershocks then continued to pound the net with shot after shot; however, their goalie made some excellent saves to take the match into over time. At the end of over time the two teams were still tied, and as a result, the Championship would be decided by penalty kicks. The Aftershocks won 2-1 in penalty kicks after four consecutive saves by the Aftershocks goalie. 

The girls had been working hard all season and earned their new title as the Bronze division State Champions!

The Elite Clubs National League (ECNL) was founded in 2009 to change the landscape for elite female soccer players in the United States through innovative, player-centered programming and to enhance the overall experience by creating a better, more enjoyable, more accessible, and more successful player, coach, and club development model. It enhances the developmental experience of female youth soccer players in the United States through:

*  Improving the competitive environment through creation of a true national competitive league with multiple flights;

*  Improving the process for identifying elite female soccer players for the U.S. Soccer youth national teams through a systematic scouting   and identification program based on national competitions; and

*  Improving the daily training environment at top female youth soccer clubs through developing best practices and training and organizational guidelines for its member clubs.

In the coming week we will put together an information session led by Josh Sterling, our GM, and Peter Colbert, our President, to discuss what the future looks like for the teams moving into this elite league. We will answer any questions that you may have, and we will briefly describe what the coming year, and beyond, looks like for these age groups. We are MOST conscious of the impact financially on our members, and we think you will be pleased that we will show, you will not have to ‘break the bank’ to get your daughters amazing college exposure, and the benefits of this opportunity WELL outweigh the costs.  Look for an upcoming date and venue, as I will send this out as soon as we can secure a time and space for us to all meet.
