Game Scheduling Procedures

Game Scheduling  Procedures

1. For Norcal Games - Go to NorCal Website for Scheduling rules http://www.norcalpremier.com/content/view/358/342/

2. Send by email to the SRU office your teams request for Home games.   The SRU office will do  scheduling each Wednesday.

3. Once you receive your home game schedule from the SRU office you confirm the date and time with the visiting team.  All homes games on the SRU schedule will be tentative until the manager confirms by email to the SRU office that SRU team and the visiting team are in agreement on the game time. Please be sure you receive an email back from the SRU office with final approval and check the website schedule to make sure Tentative has been removed.   At this time the game will become final on the schedule.  Managers are responsible to check the SRU website field schedule, this is the official Game Schedule to make sure their home game is listed correctly.  Games listed with tentative will not be scheduled refs, even if you have contacted the SRU office.

4. Any changes to the  Schedule need to be emailed to the SRU office at least 2 weeks prior to the date of the game already on the schedule.   Games must be finalized by the Wednesday 1 1/2 weeks before the game is to be played or canceled.    Any changes made to games listed on the official website schedule for any reason, except rainouts, the home team is responsible for canceling the refs by sending an email to the referee coordinator at srurefs@sbcglobal.net  A copy must also be sent to the SRU office at administrator@srunited.com.   Phone messages will not be acceptable for canceling Referees.   Managers are also responsible to check the Website and make sure the game is listed as canceled.  If the game is not listed as canceled by Tuesday evening the team will be responsible for referee payment as listed below.  All Changes must be done by email
5. Tuesday 4:00pm is the cut off for game cancellations without incurring referee payment.
Any cancellations of games after Tuesday 4:00pm will trigger the payment for the ref team for that canceled game.
The Manager, Coach or Team Referee Coordinator will be responsible to send payments to the ref team within 5 days of the scheduled game. Payments made after 5 days will double with the second half going to the Referee Program.
The reason for giving this assurance to the refs is that the refs have made a commitment to ref our games many times foregoing the opportunity to ref another game. When games get canceled it causes bad feelings for the referees and they stop reffing our games.  When the refs know that we have this policy in place they feel good about scheduling our games.

Set-up/Take-down Duties

If you are the first game of the day on a field you have set-up responsibilities.
If you are the last game of the day on a field you have take-down responsibilities.
Please make sure all equipment is in the lock boxes and locked at P2P before leaving the site for the day.
Please make sure all garbage is picked up before you leave
At Trione field make sure all gates to field are closed

RED CARD PROCEDURE

Norcal games please see Norcal website for directions on red cards.

CYSA games – If a player or coach receives a red card in a game, their membership pass will be retained by the referee and forwarded to the appropriate authority.  To get the membership pass returned, the manager must submit a completed Suspension Verification form to SRYSL Administrative Assistant which lists the game dates served and signed by the referee of each game.  It is recommended that managers carry extra copies of these forms at tournaments and league games.

NOTE THAT THE DISTRICT COMMISSIONER'S POLICY IS TO IMPOSE THE MAXIMUM PENALTYFOR ALL RED CARDS RECEIVED.  COACHES RECIEVING A RED CARD OR BEING ASKED TO LEAVE THE GAME WILL RECEIVE A MINIMUM OF 3 GAMES, AND POSSIBLY MORE.

You can down load the suspension verification form from the SRU website.  Make sure the ref, of your teams next game, signs the suspension verification form that the player did not play.  Be sure to get a ref signature for every game you play without this player.  Kathy Britton will notify SRU office in approximately 4 – 5 days on how many games the player must serve.  Please do not contact Kathy Britton; you can contact Laurie Hurst or Patty Manton for any questions.  Once the player serves all the games they where suspended for you send an e-mail to Kathy Britton, she will put the player card in the box for you but you must leave the verification of suspension form.  Please do not put the rest of the Club in bad standings by not leaving the form with Kathy Britton completely filled out and with appropriate signatures.
