HOPTON SCORES IN CLASSICAL MUSIC!     Jonah Hopton, forward for SR United’s 92 Gold boys team, scored a big win this past weekend, but it wasn’t on the soccer field.  Jonah won third place in the  Classical Singer College Expo, held at Sonoma State University, and advanced to the second round of national competition, which will be held in New York on Memorial Day weekend.  High school students from all over the US and Canada are competing at various university campuses for this chance to win scholarship money and to be seen by music faculty from numerous colleges.  Jonah, whose natural talent overcame his lack of strict classical music training, sang two classical pieces and "Maria" from "West Side Story."  Before heading to New York, Jonah will be traveling with the Bocas to tournaments in Phoenix and San Diego, then to State Cup competition.  No doubt he’ll be required to serenade the team while they’re on the road.
